Figure 4-3 shows an example network of the ATM PWE3.
l Users access to MA5600T/MA5603T/MA5608T using xDSL service boards.
l The PW encapsulation mode is used to enable the transparent transmission of data over the
IP network.
l PWs in the Ntol mode are used. Specifically, one PW is bound to multiple PVCs so that
the same service from multiple users is carried by the same PW.
l In the upstream direction, the trTCM by CoS remarking based on PWs is used; in the
downstream direction, the early drop based on CoS threshold is used. In this way, QoS can
be guaranteed for various services.

Prerequisite
l The xDSL board and the SPUB board must be in position and must work in the normal
state.
l The static routing protocol or the OSPF protocol must be successfully configured on each
device in the network (the host route of each port must be successfully advertised).
