IBM FastSetup

FastSetup allows users to create mass deployments of firmware updates and includes

features to make the setup process as simple and as fast as possible, including automation

templates made easy for mass deployments of firmware, an easy process to push

configuration settings, and integrated help for dialog panels.

FastSetup runs on Windows and performs the following tasks:

򐂰 Setup wizard to collect inventory, update firmware, set configuration parameters.

򐂰 Create a template of firmware levels and parameters to be deployed to other servers or I/O

modules of the same type.

򐂰 Download firmware to a local repository for later use.

The system running FastSetup does need to be able to connect to the target systems via the

network, but they do not need to be on the same subnet.

Perform these steps to install FastSetup.

1. Download the FastSetup utility from the IBM FastSetup page here:

http://ibm.com/support/entry/portal/docdisplay?lndocid=TOOL-FASTSET

2. Launch the tool from your download location.

3. Select your language and click OK.

4. The introduction page opens. Click Next and follow the instructions to install the program.
