4.8 Lifting and depositing load units
Z Do not lift long loads at an angle.
Z Do not walk on the load section (except for trucks with the pallet guard option (o))
Lifting load units
Requirements
Load unit correctly palletised.
Fork spread for the pallet checked and adjusted if necessary.
Load unit weight matches the truck's capacity.
Forks evenly loaded for heavy loads.
Procedure
Drive the truck carefully up to the pallet.
Slowly insert the forks into the pallet until the fork shank touches the pallet.
Z The load unit must not extend by more than 50 mm beyond the fork tips.
Transporting load units
Requirements
Good ground conditions.
Procedure
Accelerate gradually.
Travel at a constant speed.
Transport the load unit as low as possible above the ground outside the rack aisle.
Check the ground clearance.
Depositing load units
Requirements
Warehouse location suitable for storing the load.
Procedure
Drive the truck carefully up to the storage location
Carefully lower the load handler so that the forks are clear of the load.
Z Avoid depositing the load suddenly to avoid damaging the load and the load aid.
Carefully remove the forks from the pallet.
