6.2 Tightening the wheel nuts
The wheel nuts on the drive wheel must be retightened in accordance with the main-
tenance intervals indicated in the maintenance checklist.
Tightening the wheel nuts
Requirements
– Prepare the truck for maintenance and repairs ((see "Preparing the truck for main-
tenance and repairs" on page 89)).
Tools and Material Required
– Socket wrench
Procedure
• Position the drive wheel (3) at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the truck.
• Pass the socket wrench through the opening (2) in the skirt and tighten all wheel
nuts (1). To do this, torque the wheel nuts in the prescribed order
• first to 10 Nm
• then to 150 Nm.
• Remove the socket wrench fro the opening (2).
The wheel nuts are now tightened.
