Features of your vehicle Keys
䳜 Be careful that someone䳓s body
and hands are not trapped when
closing the door.
If people must spend a longer time
in the vehicle whilst it is very hot or
cold outside, there is risk of injuries
or danger to life. Do not lock the
vehicle from the outside when there
are people in it.
Operating door locks from inside
the vehicle
You can operate door locks with the
door lock handle or central door
lock/unlock switch.
With the door handle
䳜 To unlock a door, push the door
lock button (1) to the 䳖Unlock䳗
position. The red mark on the
handle will be visible.
䳜 To lock a door, push the door lock
button (1) to the 䳖Lock䳗 position.
If the door is locked properly, the
red mark on the door handle will
not be visible.
䳜 To open a door, pull the door han
-
dle (2) outward.
䳜 If the inner door handle of the
driver䳓s (or front passenger䳓s)
door is pulled when the door lock
button is in the lock position, the
button will unlock and the door
will open.
䳜 Front doors cannot be locked if
the ignition key is in the ignition
switch and any front door is
opened.
䳜 Doors cannot be locked if the
smart key is in the vehicle and an
door is open.
Door lock malfunction
If a power door lock ever fails to
function whilst you are in the vehi
-
cle, try one or more of the following
techniques to exit:
䳜 Operate the door unlock feature
repeatedly (both electronic and
manual) whilst simultaneously
pulling on the door handle.
䳜 Operate the other door locks and
handles, front and rear.
䳜 Lower a front window and use the
key to unlock the door from out
-
side.
䳜 Move to the cargo area and open
the trunk/tailgate.
