Remove driven gear, thrust washer and
pinion gear from housing assembly. Examine
gears for worn or damaged teeth. Replace
as
required.
Clean all parts thoroughly.
REASSEMBLY
Apply a light coating of Lawn-Boy
"AX"
grease to pinion gear, driven gear and thrust
washer.
Place pinion gear on the small driveshaft in
motor housing.
Place thrust washer and driven gear on pin.
NOTE:
Boss
on large driven gear must be in-
stalled facing cover
to
ensure proper engage-
ment with pinion gear.
Install gear cover plate with word
OUT
facing upwards and secure to housing assem-
bly with
two
screws and drag spring stud.
Torque screws and stud to
20
in.-lbs.
