10.18 Maintenance of Hydraulic System
Caution!
Observe instructions by tractor manufacturer.
The condition of the hydraulic cylinder (Figure 99) is
inevitably dependent on the purity of the tractor hydraulic oil:
If the tractor hydraulic oil is absolutely clean, the hydraulic
filter must be replaced once per year. Contaminated tractor
hydraulic oil reduces this interval accordingly.
Daily visual inspection of the hydraulic system for leaks,
chafe marks, ageing and functional reliability. Defective
parts must immediately be replaced by original spare parts.
Maintenance and repair work on the hydraulic system may
only be carried out by hydraulic experts.
Note!
In the event of heavy oil loss: consult a workshop.
(Figure 99) On the top side the hydraulic oil filter is provided
with an optical contamination indicator. The indication is only
correct when the hydraulic system is switched on.
Contamination indicator is Green means:
the filter insert in the hydraulic oil filter is OK!
Contamination indicator is Red means:
the filter insert in the hydraulic oil filter must be replaced
within the next 2 days at the latest.
Caution!
Daily visual inspection of the contamination indicator
required while hydraulic system is switched on!
Before any work is started, the hydraulic system must be
depressurized: Switch off and secure tractor engine against
unintentional restarting.
Detach electrical connection of the control box.
Eliminate outside leaks immediately. If necessary, inform
the customer service department.
Clean screw joints and their surroundings prior to removal
to prevent dirt from entering.
Openings must always be covered to prevent foreign matter
from entering.
Collect overflowing hydraulic oil in a suitable container
together with the old filter element.
Insert new filter element and tighten together with the filter
housing.
