7.5 Connecting the Pneumatic System (Compressed
Air Braking System)
7.5.1 Connecting the compressed air braking system
Attention, danger of accident and injury!
Maintenance and repair work on the braking system of the
machine may only be carried out by trained expert
personnel. Always depressurise the system before starting
any work.
Do not start driving with the machine attached unless both
coupling heads of the compressed air brake (yellow and red)
are connected to the tractor and the pressure gauge in the
tractor cabin shows 5.0 bar.
Remove dirt, if any, from the sealing washers of the coupling
heads on the tractor and on the connecting tubes of the
machine.
Connect coupling heads for reservoir (red) and brake
(yellow) with the corresponding connections of the tractor
(Figure 24).
Drain the compressed-air reservoir (left machine side,
above the spare film rolls) daily and check for damage and
proper tightening.
Adjust variable load valve: see next chapter.
