8.8 Removing the cutting device knives
By removing individual knives the cut length of the baling
material can be changed.
If no cutting function is desired for a longer period of time, all
knives can be removed.
 Stop driving.
 Secure tractor and machine against rolling away.
 Activate the manually operated brake on the machine (see
chapter 7.7 Manually operated brake).
Attention, danger of injury!
Danger of injury when working at the magnets of the knife
holders!The function of cardiac pacemakers can be
interrupted by magnetic fields.
Danger of injury by splinters: Never strike against the
installed knives from the bottom with a striking tool - this may
damage the magnets!
During all work on the cutting device knives: Wear protective
gloves.
When carrying out grinding work: wear protective goggles.
If any maintenance or assembly work is carried out with the
tailgate open, the tailgate must always be secured against
lowering for safety reasons (chapter "Tailgate Safeguard",
page 26).
Move cutting device to cutting position:
 See chapter "Working with the Desired Knife Group",
page 70.
Move feed channel floor HYDROFLEXCONTROL about half
way down (do not move fully down - the knives must still project
from the feed channel floor – see Figure 62):

Switch machine to "Manual" mode:
 See separate operating manual "PRO-LINK for RPC 445",
chapter "MENU: MONITOR (MANUAL MODE)".
Move bale transfer unit to home position (underneath the
tailgate):
