5.1 Function
The baler picks up the straw via the pick-up and compresses
the material in the baling chamber forming cylindrical bales. A
cutting device can optionally be connected to shred the material
prior to baling.
The compressed bale is radially tied (wrapped) by means of a
net to avoid falling apart of the bale. After baling and net tying of
the bale the tailgate of the baler opens and transfers the bale to
the bale wrapper:
The bale rolls onto the hydraulically tiltable vale transfer
arm.
The bale transfer arm transfers the bale to the wrapping
table.
The wrapping table swivels hydraulically to the horizontal
position.
Now the wrapping ring with its two film stretching units rotates
around the bale and wraps the bale with the film. During this
process, the bale is continuously rotated around its own axis at
a low speed. As a result of these two rotary movements film
overlapping is achieved so that the film layers cover the entire
bale surface without any gap.
Note!
The speed of the wrapping table (bale rotation) influences
the degree of film overlapping. The lower the rotation speed
of the bale on the wrapping table, the larger the film overlap
(on the bale). The film overlap can be individually adjusted
via the PRO-LINK control box.
Each film stretching unit consists of a film roll and 3 stretch
rollers. The stretch rollers ensure sufficient pretensioning
(stretching) of the film web.
After completion of the number of revolutions (wraps) preset by
the operator:
The two film knives cut the two film webs between film roll
and bale.
The two film knives clamp the two film web ends.
The wrapping table swivels and unloads the bale via the
rear of the machine (depending on the setting in the
"MONITOR" menu, see separate operating manual
"PRO-LINK for RPC 445").
