connectoronthebattery/flashpowermodule.
Step5.Liftthebattery/flashpowermoduleuptoremovethebattery/flashpowermodulefromthe
battery/flashpowermoduleholder.
Ifyouareinstructedtoreturntheservercomponentoroptionaldevice,followallpackaginginstructions,
anduseanypackagingmaterialsforshippingthataresuppliedtoyou.
InstallingaRAIDadapterbatteryorflashpowermoduleremotelyintheserver
UsethisinformationtoinstallaRAIDadapterbatteryorflashpowermoduleremotelyintheserver.
Readthesafetyinformationin“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”onpage35.
Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Note:WhenyouinstallanyRAIDadapterthatcomeswithbatteries,itissometimesnecessarytoinstallthe
batteriesinanotherlocationintheservertopreventthebatteriesfromoverheating.
ToinstallaRAIDadapterbatteryorflashpowermoduleremotelyintheserver,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Carefullyturntheserveronitssidesothatitislyingflat,withthecoverfacingup.
Attention:Donotallowtheservertofallover.
Step2.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecover”onpage184).
Step3.InstalltheServeRAIDadapteronthesystemboard(see“Installinganadapter”onpage216).
Step4.Connectoneendofthebattery/flashpowermodulecabletothebattery/flashpowermodule
connector.
