TheadditionoftheoptionalEthernetdaughtercardprovidesfailovercapabilitytoaredundantEthernet
connectionwiththeapplicableapplicationinstalled.IfaproblemoccurswiththeprimaryEthernet
connectionandtheoptionalEthernetdaughtercardisinstalledontheserver,allEthernettrafficthatis
associatedwiththeprimaryconnectionisautomaticallyswitchedtotheoptionalredundantEthernet
daughtercardconnection.Iftheapplicabledevicedriversareinstalled,thisswitchingoccurswithout
datalossandwithoutuserintervention.
•Redundantcoolingandoptionalpowercapabilities
Theserversupportsamaximumoftwo750-wattor900-watthot-swappowersuppliesandsix
simple-swapfans,whichprovideredundancyandhot-swapcapabilityforatypicalconfiguration.The
redundantcoolingbythefansintheserverenablescontinuedoperationifoneofthefansfails.Theserver
comeswithone750-wattor900-watthot-swappowersupplyandtwofans.
Youmustinstallfan2whenyouinstallthesecondmicroprocessorintheserver.Youcanorderthe
optionalfan4,5,and6forcoolingredundancy.Youcanorderthesecondoptionalpowersupply
forpowerredundancy.

–Remotelyviewingvideowithgraphicsresolutionsupto1600x1200at75Hz,regardlessofthesystem
state
–Remotelyaccessingtheserver,usingthekeyboardandmousefromaremoteclient

Theblue-screencapturefeaturecapturesthevideodisplaycontentsbeforetheIMM2restartstheserver
whentheIMM2detectsanoperating-systemhangcondition.Asystemadministratorcanusethe
blue-screencapturefeaturetoassistindeterminingthecauseofthehangcondition.

TheServeRAIDadapterprovideshardwareredundantarrayofindependentdisks(RAID)supportto
createconfigurations.ThestandardRAIDadapterprovidesRAIDlevels0,1,and10.AnoptionalRAID
adapterisavailableforpurchase.
•Systems-managementcapabilities
TheservercomeswithanIntegratedManagementModuleII(IMM2).WhentheIMM2isusedwiththe
systems-managementsoftwarethatcomeswiththeserver,youcanmanagethefunctionsoftheserver
locallyandremotely.TheIMM2alsoprovidessystemmonitoring,eventrecording,andnetworkalert
capability.Thesystems-managementconnectorontherearoftheserverisdedicatedtotheIMM2.The
dedicatedsystems-managementconnectorprovidesadditionalsecuritybyphysicallyseparatingthe
managementnetworktrafficfromtheproductionnetwork.YoucanusetheSetuputilitytoconfigurethe
