Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toinstallthemicroprocessor2expansionboard,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Carefullyturntheserveronitssidesothatitislyingflat,withthecoverfacingup.
Attention:Donotallowtheservertofallover.
Step2.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecover”onpage184).
Step3.Removetheairbaffle(see“Removingtheairbaffle”onpage189).
Step4.Removethefancageassembly(see“Removingthefancageassembly”onpage272).
Step5.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthemicroprocessor2expansionboardtoany
unpaintedmetalsurfaceontheserver;then,removethemicroprocessor2expansionboardfrom
thepackage.
Step6.Installthemicroprocessor2expansionboardsidebracket.
a.Alignthesidebracketwiththeholesonthechassisandinstallthesidebracketonthesystem
board.
