Attention:Staticelectricitythatisreleasedtointernalservercomponentswhentheserverispowered-on

alwaysuseanelectrostatic-dischargewriststraporothergroundingsystemwhenyouworkinsidethe

Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toinstallasimple-swapfan,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthesimple-swapfantoanyunpaintedmetal
surfaceontheserver;then,removethefanfromthepackage.
Step2.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecover”onpage40).
Step3.Openthefancagecover.
Step4.PerformthefollowingstepsonlyifyouwanttoinstallthesimpleswapfanintheFan2compartment:
