Intheeventofaserioussideimpact,therelevantsideairbag
willdeploy(onlytheaffectedside).
•Theairbagwillbedeployedintheeventthatthesideof
thevehicleisimpactedwithasolidobjectoranother
vehicle.
SideHeadImpactProtectionAirbags
Intheeventofaserioussideimpact,therelevantside
curtainairbagwilldeploy(onlytheaffectedside).
•Thesidecurtainairbagwillbedeployedintheeventthat
thesideofthevehicleisimpactedwithasolidobjector
anothervehicle.
ConditionsinWhichAirbagsWillNot
Deploy
Thedeploymentofairbagsdoesnotdependonthevehicle
speed,butontheobjectthatthevehiclehits,angleof
impactandtherateatwhichthecarchangesspeedasa
resultofacollision.Whentheimpactforceofcollision
isabsorbedordispersedtovehiclebody,airbagsmaynot
deploy;however,airbagsmaysometimesdeployaccording
toimpactcondition.Therefore,thedeploymentofairbags
shallnotbejudgedbasedontheseverityofvehicledamage.
FrontAirbags
Undercertainconditionsthefrontairbagsmaynotbe
deployed.Someexamplesarelistedbelow:
•Theimpactpointisnotcentraltothefrontofthe
vehicle.
•Theimpactisnotofsufcientforce(theimpactiswith
anobjectthatisnotsolid,suchasalamppostorcentral
barriers).
•Theimpactareaishigh(collisionwiththetailgateofa
truck).
•Impactstotherearorsideofthevehicle.
