Usingequipmentthattransmitson
frequenciessimilartothatoftheTPMS
mayinterferewiththeoperationofthe
TyrePressureMonitoringSystem,thismay
illuminateawarningorregisteratemporary
fault.
Note:TPMSonlywarnsoflowtyrepressures,itdoes
notre-inatethetyre.
TPMSusespressuresensorsbuiltintotyrevalvesto
continuouslymonitorpressureandtransmitdatatothe
ECUinsidethevehicleusingRFsignals.Ifitdeducesthat
thepressureofthattyrehasfallenbelowthepredened
limitofthesystem,thewarninglightintheinstrument
packwillilluminate(alwaysyellow).Formoreinformation,

IftheTPMSmalfunctionindicatorlamp
illuminates,andonsomemodels,isaccompaniedbythe
warningmessage"XXT yrePressureLow"displayed,itis
advisedthatyoupleasestopthecarassoonaspossible,
checkthetyrepressureandinatethetyretocorrect
pressurevalue.Overorunder-inatedtyreswearout
morerapidlyandalsohaveadetrimentaleffectonthecar’s
handlingcharacteristics.Under-inatedtyresincreasethe
rollingresistanceofthecarwhich,inturn,increasesfuel
consumption.Alwayscheck/adjusttyrepressureswhen
theyarecold.
