ElectronicBrakeForceDistribution(EBD)
Y ourcarisequippedwithEBD,which,inordertomaintain
brakingefciency,distributesbrakingforcesbetweenfront
andrearwheels,underallloadconditions.
EBDintegratesamonitoringsystem.Themonitoring
systemislinkedtothebrakesystemmalfunctionindicator
lampontheinstrumentpack.Referto"WarningLights
andIndicators"in"InstrumentsandControls"chapter.
Iftheindicatorlampilluminateswhiledriving,orremains
illuminatedaftertheSTART/STOPSwitchisturnedon
(ON/READYposition),itindicatesthereisafailurewith
thebrakingsystem,andEBDmaybeinoperative.Insuch
acase,stopthecarassoonassafetypermitsandseekan
MGAuthorisedRepairerimmediately.DONOTdrivethe
carwiththebrakingsystemmalfunctionindicatorlamp
illuminated.
ElectronicBrakeAssistance(EBA)
Y ourcarisequippedwithElectronicBrakeAssist,which
reactstothespeedatwhichthebrakepedalisapplied.If,
inanemergencysituationthebrakesareappliedfasterthan
thelimitssetwithinthesystem,thenfullABSapplicationis
appliedtobringthecartoastopintheshortestpossible
distance.
HillHoldControl(HHC)
HHChaslimitationswhensubjecttoadverse
conditionssuchaswetoricysurfacesand
steepslopes.
HHCisnotasubstituteforparkingbrake
applicationwhencarryingoutahillstart.
DONOTexitthevehiclewithonlyHHC
applied,itmayleadtoaseriousaccident
whenHHCreleases.
Thecarmayrollif'pull-away'isnotachieved
immediatelyafterreleasingthebrakepedal.
Alwaysensurethebrakepedalispressedor
electronicparkingbrakeapplieduntildriveis
takenup.
