Thesmartmainbeamsystemservesonlyas
anauxiliaryfunction.Thedrivermustcheck
thestatusofthefrontlamps,andturnonthe
frontlampswhennecessary.
Forexample:Themainbeammaynotbe
turnedoffautomaticallyinthefollowing
cases,thusmanualswitchingbetweenthe
mainbeamanddippedbeamisrequired:
•Thewindscreenisdirty,brokenor
obstructedbyotherobjectsblockingthe
viewofthesensor.
•Thelampsofothervehiclesaremissing,
damaged,obscuredorpartiallyobscured
orcannotbedetectedforsomeother
reasons.
•Thelampsofothervehiclesareobscured
orpartiallyobscuredbysmoke,fog,snow,
watersprayoranyotherconditionsthat
effectvisibility.
•Whenpedestrians,non-motorvehicles
andotherobjectswithnoobviouslightor
reectedlightareencountered.
•Whentheheadlampsandtaillampsof
othervehiclescannotbedetecteddue
tothesensorviewbeingimpaireddue
undulatingroadconditionssuchasbends,
dipsorhills.
•Whenthecarisdrivingonawindingroad
ormountainousroad.
Inanyoftheaforementionedconditions(but
notlimitedto)smartmainbeamoperation
maybesuspended,itwillbenecessaryto
operatethemainbeamlampsmanually.
Thesmartmainbeamsystemusesthefrontviewcamera
todetectthelightintensityofthevehicleahead.Themain
beamlampscanbeswitchedonoroffautomaticallyby
thesystemwhenthesurroundingsaredarkandnolight
detected.Thesmartbeamfunctioncanbeswitchedon/off
viatheinfotainmentsystemsettings-settings-comfort
andconvenience.
