NEVERattempttostartorpowerthevehicle
bypushingortowing.
Makesurethatbothbatteriesareofthesame
ratedvoltage(12volts),andthatthebooster
cablesareapprovedforusewith12voltcar
batteries.
Ensuresparksandnakedamesarekeptwell
awayfromthefrontcompartment.
Usingboostercables(jumpleads)fromadonorbattery,
orabatteryttedtoadonorvehicle,istheonlyapproved
methodofpoweringacarwithaatbattery.
Ifthebatteryfromadonorvehicleistobeused,makesure
thatthevehiclesareparkedsothatthetwobatteriesare
adjacenttooneanotherandthatboththevehiclesdonot
touch.
StartingtheCar
Ensurethateachboostercableconnectionis
securelymade.Theremustbenoriskofthe
clipsaccidentallyslippingfromthebattery
terminals(asaresultofenginevibration,for
example),thiscouldcausesparking,which
couldleadtoreorexplosion.
