giveprioritytothepositiveterminalasthe
positiveconnectingpoint.Ifthetailgate
cannotbeopened,pleaseopenthefront
compartmentfuse-box.Theterminalshown
ingurebelowcanbeusedasthepositive
connectingpoint.

EnsuretheSTART/STOPSwitchisturnedoffandswitch
offALLelectricalequipmentofBOTHvehicles,thenfollow
theinstructionsbelow:
1ConnecttheREDboostercablebetweenthepositive
(+)terminalsofbothbatteries.ConnecttheBLACK
boostercablefromthenegative(-)terminalofthe
donorbattery(A)toagoodearthpoint(anengine
mountingorotherunpaintedsurface,forexample),as
farawayfromthebatteryaspossibleandwellaway
fromfuelandbrakelinesonthedisabledvehicle(B).
2Checkthatthecablesareclearofmovingpartsofboth
engines,thenstarttheengineofthedonorvehicleand
allowittoidleforafewminutes.
3Nowswitchthevehiclepowersystemofthevehicle
withthedischargedbatterytoREADY ,and/orstart
theengine(DONOTcranktheengineformorethan
10seconds).Ifthedisabledvehiclewillnotswitchto
READYitmayneedtoberepaired.Pleasecontactan
MGAuthorisedRepairer.
4Afterboththevehicleshavenormally
started/powered,leavethevehiclesconnectedinthis
