Starting
Payattentiontothefollowingwhenstartingtheengine:
•Donotcontinuetooperatethestarterafterafewfailed
attempts;consultanMGAuthorisedRepairer.
•Donotoperatethestarterifanenginemisreis
suspectedanddonotattempttoclearamisreby
pressingtheacceleratorpedal.
•Donotattempttopushortowstartthecar.
Regeneration
•Onoccasiontheparticulateltermayrequire
regeneration.Y ourvehiclewillautomaticallycarry
outthisprocedurewhencertainconditionsaremet.
Duringthisprocessyoumayexperienceslightpower
lossandunevenenginerunning.
Driving
Pleasepayattentiontothefollowingconditions:
•Donotoverloadorexcessively‘rev’ofengine.
•Donotstoptheenginewhenthecarisinmotionwith
Doragearselected.
•ConsultanMGAuthorisedRepairerifyouthinkyour
car’soilconsumptionisabnormal.
•Ifamisreissuspected,orthecarlackspowerwhile
driving,providedtheenginehasreacheditsnormal
operatingtemperature,itmaybedrivenSLOWLY(at
riskofcatalystandparticulatelterdamage)toanMG
AuthorisedRepairer .
•Donotdriveonterrainlikelytosubjecttheunderside
ofthecartoheavyimpacts.
Note:Anyenginemisre,lossofengineperformance
orenginerun-on,couldseriouslydamagethecatalytic
converterandparticulatelter.Regularmaintenance
mustbecarriedoutinaccordancewiththeschedule
speciedinthe‘ServiceSchedule’.Anymodications
toenginewithoutbeingauthorisedisprohibited.
EngineOils
•Itisstronglyrecommendedthatonlyoilsthatmeet
themanufacturersspecicationareused.Useofoils
thatdonotmeetthemanufacturersspecicationscan
damagetheparticulatelter,forexamplelowSAPSoils
canaffectparticulatelterashcapacity.
