whileworkingintheenginecompartment.
Ifyouneedtocarryoutmaintenance,observethe
followingsafetyprecautionsatalltimes:
•Keepyourhandsandclothingawayfromdrivebeltsand
pulleys.
•Ifthecarhasbeendrivenrecently,DONOTTOUCH
exhaustandcoolingsystemcomponentsuntilthe
engine/electrictransmissionhascooled.
•DONOTTOUCHelectricalleadsorcomponents
whiletheengineisrunning,orwiththeSTART/STOP
Switchon.
•NEVERleavetheenginerunninginanunventilatedarea
-exhaustgasesarepoisonousandextremelydangerous.
•DONOTworkunderneaththecarwithawheel
changingjackastheonlymeansofsupport.
•Ensurethatsparksandnakedlightsarefarawayfrom
theenginecompartment.
•Wearprotectiveclothingandworkgloves.
•Removewatchesandjewelrybeforeworkinginthe
enginecompartment.
•DONOTallowtoolsormetalpartsofthecartomake
contactwiththebatteryleadsorterminals.

Fluidsusedinmotorvehiclesarepoisonousandshould
notbeconsumedorbroughtintocontactwithopen
wounds.Theseinclude:batteryacid,coolant,brakeuid,
fuel,engineoilandwindscreenwasheruid.
Foryourownsafety,ALWAYSreadandobeyall
instructionsprintedonlabelsandcontainers.
UsedEngineOil
Prolongedcontactwithengineoilmaycauseseriousskin
disorders,includingdermatitisandcanceroftheskin.
Washthoroughlyaftercontact.Usedengineoilshould
bedisposedofcorrectly.Incorrectdisposalcancausea
threattotheenvironment.
