Theshiftknobresidesinthecentresteadystateposition,
withtwonon-steadystatepositionsforwardorbackward,
i.e.,theshiftknobreturnstothecentresteadystate
positiononcereleased.
•PPark
Whentheshiftleverisinthisposition,thetransmission
willbemechanicallylocked.Usethisgearwhenthe
vehicleisstationaryandtheEPBisapplied.
PressthePbutton,andthevehiclewillshiftintoPark
gear.
Note:TurnofftheStartswitch,andthevehiclewill
automaticallyshiftintoPgear.
Note:Withthebrakepedalreleased,thedriver
seatbeltunfastenedandthedriver'sdooropen,the
vehiclewillshifttoPgearautomatically.
Note:Whenthevehicleisparkingonaslope,press
thebrakepedalandapplytheEPBbeforeputting
intoPgear.
•R:Reverse
Selectthisgearonlywhenthevehicleisstationaryand
thedriverhastheintentiontodrivebackwards.
Depressthebrakepedalandpushtheshiftknob
forwardtotheend,andthevehiclegoesintoreverse
gear.
•NNeutral
Selectthisgearwhenthevehicleisstationaryandthe
engineisrunningatidlespeedforalongtime(for
example,waitingfortrafclights).
WiththevehicleinPgear,depressthebrakepedal,push
theknobforwardorbackwardtotherstnon-steady
stateposition,andthevehiclewillshiftintoNeutral
gear.
WiththevehicleinRgear,pushtheknobbackwardto
therstnon-steadystateposition,andthevehiclewill
shiftintoNeutralgear .
WiththevehicleinD/Mgear ,pushtheknobforwardto
therstnon-steadystateposition,andthevehiclewill
shiftintoNeutralgear .
•DDrive
Drivegearisusedfornormaldrivingandallows
automaticselectionofdrivegearsdependingonvehicle
speedandacceleratorpedalposition.
WiththevehicleinP/R/Ngear ,depressthebrakepedal
andpushtheknobbackwardtotheend,andthevehicle
goesintodrivegear.
WiththevehicleinMgear,pushtheknobbackwardto
theend,andthevehiclegoesintodrivegear.
