Whenthesystemdetectsariskofcollisionbetweenyour
vehicleandthevehicleaheadinthecurrentlaneormoving
pedestrians,itwillgiveanalarmtoremindthedriver.If
theriskofcollisionfurtherincreases,brakeassistwillbe
performedtoavoidcollisionormitigatethedamageof
collision;ifthesuddenriskofforwardcollisionishigh,the
brakemaybeappliedwithoutwarning.Ifthevehicleis
brakedtostop,itwillkeepstationarywithinashorttime,
thenthecontrolofthevehiclewillbehandedovertothe
driver.
Thesystemwillautomaticallyslowdownthe
vehicleonlywhenthefollowingconditionsare
met:
•Thedynamicstabilitycontrolsystem(SCS)and
tractioncontrolsystem(TCS)areONandfailure-free;
•ThevehicleisinDrivegear;
•Theairbagsarenotdeployed.
Note:Insomecases,thedrivermaynothave
anticipatedanybrakinginterventionanddoes
notwanttoapplythebrakeswhilsttheforward
collisionsystemisbrakingheavily,thedrivercan
temporarilycancelthisoperationbyheavilypressing
theacceleratorpedalafterensuringthatitissafeto
doso.
Theforwardcollisionassistsystemwillbe
limitedorapplybrakeunnecessarilyinthe
followingconditions:
•Thereisoncomingtrafc,thevehicleaheaddrives
acrosstransverselyorcutssuddenly;
•Thevehicleaheaddoesnotfollowtherulesofdriving
(forexample,drivingacrosslanes)andparking(onthe
roadstransversely);
•Thevehicleaheadisnotonthesamelaneofthisvehicle
orispartiallyblocked;
•Thevehicleaheadisanon-standardmotorvehicle(for
example,arettedvehicle);
•Thevehicleaheadisavehiclewithhighchassis.
