Connecting the water inlet
Health risk posed by process chemic-
als
Water in the dishwasher must not be
used as drinking water.
Do not drink water from the dishwasher.
Do not re-use removable sets of hoses.
Use the sets of hoses supplied with the
dishwasher.
- The dishwasher must be connected to the
water supply in strict accordance with
current local and national water authority
regulations.
- The water used must comply with the Wa-
ter Supply (Water Quality) Regulations. If
the water supply has a high iron content,
there is a risk of corrosion occurring on
load items in the dishwasher, as well as
the dishwasher itself. If the chloride con-
tent of the water exceeds 100mg/l, the
risk of corrosion on load items will be in-
creased considerably.
- In certain regions (e.g. mountainous re-
gions), the water composition may cause
precipitates to form, requiring the use of
softened water for the dishwasher.
- The water pressure (flow pressure) must
amount to at least 200kPa pressure
(100kPa = 1bar). At a water pressure
(flow pressure) below 200kPa, the water
inlet time extends automatically. The max-
imum permissible static pressure amounts
to 1000kPa (overpressure). If the water
pressure does not lie in the 200–1000kPa
range, contact the Miele Customer Ser-
vice Department for advice.
- The dishwasher is supplied as standard
for connection to cold water (blue coded
hose) and hot water up to max. 60°C (red
coded hose). Connect the inlet hoses to
the stopcocks for cold and hot water.
- If no hot water supply is available, the in-
let hose with the red marking for the hot
water connection must also be connected
to the cold water supply.
- A stopcock with a 3/4inch screw thread
must be provided on site for the connec-
tion. The valve should be easily access-
ible, since the water inlet should be shut
off whenever the machine is not in use.
- The inlet hose is a DN10 pressure hose
measuring approx. 1.7m in length, ter-
minating in a 3/4inch screw thread. A
1.5m long flexible metal extension hose
(tested to 140bar) is available as an op-
tional accessory if required. On no ac-
count may the inlet filter in the screw
thread be removed.
Damage caused by shortening the
hose.
Do not shorten or otherwise damage the
inlet hoses supplied with the machine.
Do not shorten the inlet hoses.
