Chapter 3 Setup
Setting of MAPS4
The MAPS (Mimaki Advanced PassSystem) function to
disperse the pass boundary to make the feeding stripes
less visible.
Setting MAPS4 Function (AUTO)

(MENU)
in LOCAL.

Press to select SETUP 1 to 4,
and press the key.
• SETUP MENU will be displayed.

twice.

Press to select “MAPS4” , and
press the key .

Press to select “AUTO”, and
press the key.
• To select “MANUAL” for the setting, refer to P.3-10
“Setting MAPS4 Function (MANUAL)”.

Press to select the “MAPS
MODE”, and press the key.

Press to select the setting value
(STANDARD/QUALITY), and press the
key.
STANDARD : Prints in standard quality mode.?
QUALITY : Prints in high quality mode.
“Prints more slowly than when
“STANDARD” is selected.

Press the key several times to
end the setting.

• SETUP MENU will be displayed.

Press to select “MAPS4” , and
press the key .

Press to select “MANUAL”, and
press the key.
• To select “AUTO” for the setting, refer to P.3-10
“Setting MAPS4 Function (AUTO)”.

Press to select the “Speed” (50
to 100%), and press the key.
• Select a speed for printing. By using standard
quality printing as reference, set in the direction of
minus (-) to decrease the print speed, and set in
the direction of plus (+) to increase the print
speed.

Press to select the "Smoothing
Lv.”, and press the key.

Press to change the smoothing
level, and press the key.
• Set Value : 0 to 100% (set in units of 5%)
• The MAPS4 effect become strong as the set value
increase, and become weak as the set value decrease.

Press the key several times to
end the setting.
• Changing the MAPS4 settings may change the
color tone. Check the effects before use.
• MAPS may not be effective depending on image to
be printed. Use it after checking effect in advance.
 Conditions disabling MAPS function
The MAPS function may be disabled under the follow-
ing conditions. In addition, the MAPS may not be effec-
tive, depending on the image to be printed.
