Chapter 4 Maintenance
Replacing the Cutter Blade
The cutter blade is consumable.When the cutter blade
gets dull, replace it with a new one (SPA-0192).

Press the key,and then press the
(MAINT)
in LOCAL.
• The Maintenance menu appears.

Press to select “CARIGE OUT”,
and press the key twice.
• The carriage moves onto the platen.

Open the front cover.

Remove the maintenance cover at the front
of the carriage.
• Remove the screws of both edges of the
maintenance cover, and remove the maintenance
cover.

Replace the cutter unit by the carriage.
(1) Loosen the screw of the cutter unit.
(2) Remove the cutter unit.
(3) Mount a new cutter unit.
(4) Fasten the screw of the cutter unit to secure
the cutter unit.

Close the front cover.

Press the key.
• The screen returns to step1.

Press the key several times to
end the setting.
• The blade is sharp.Be careful not to hurt yourself
or anyone else.
• Store the cutter blade in a place that is out of the
reach of children.In addition, dispose of used
cutter blades according to regional laws and
regulations.
• When replacing the cutter blade, it is
recommended to place a sheet of paper under the
cutter blade. This will help pick up the cutter blade
if it drops.
