17.1 Overview
The monitor is able to measure the CO
2
pressure of the patient airway, and displays
the CO
2
waveform in the waveforms area of the monitor screen. The CO
2
parameter
window shows the following parameters:
 End-tidal CO
2
concentration (EtCO
2
)
 Inspired Minimum CO
2
(InsCO
2
)
 Air Way Respiration Rate (AwRR)

Waveform and Parameters
1. CO
2
label: This option allows you to access the CO2 SETUP menu.
2. Pressure unit: mmHg or kPa.
3. EtCO
2
: The measured value of EtCO
2
.
4. InsCO
2
: The measured value of InsCO
2
.
5. AwRR: The measured value of AwRR.
The monitor can be equipped with either Mindray CO
2
module, Oridion CO
2
module, or Welch Allyn CO
2
module. Introduction to these modules are given in the
following pages. You can read the pages corresponding to your monitor
configuration, and operate your monitor accordingly.
NOTE
z CO2 and CO
2
are used interchangeably in this chapter.
