● Be sure to turn off the power during connection and maintenance.
To avoid accidents or electric shock due to malfunction of the machine under operation, be
sure to turn off the power before performing connection or maintenance.
● Be careful of unexpected movement when replacing the workpiece.
When replacing the workpiece, exercise care to avoid personal injury due to sudden
unexpected movement of the machine.
● Power supply
This product is a class I device, so be sure to provide protective grounding.
Otherwise, it could cause electric shock or product damage.
For information about the power source or electrical work, contact a licensed electrician or
other qualified individual.
● Power cord
Only use the supplied power cord. If there is something wrong with the power cord or
power connectors, contact Mitutoyo. Defective parts should be replaced by a Mitutoyo
service engineer.
Power off in case of emergency
If an emergency cutoff of the power to this product is required, pull out the power cable
from this product.
● Fuses
To prevent fire or damage to the internal circuits, use only the specified fuse. When
replacing the fuse, use the supplied spare fuse or a fuse with the same shape and ratings
(voltage and current).
● Removing the cover and disassembling the machine
This machine is precisely adjusted, and is comprised of high-voltage parts. In order to
prevent accident and to maintain the performance, do not absolutely remove the cover on
the machine.
● Danger prevention
In order to prevent danger, do not use the machine in locations where volatile gases could
be generated.
● Maintenance
Gently wipe off dirt from the machine using a lint-free and soft cloth. If the dirt is difficult to
remove, wipe it clean with a cloth soaked in neutral detergent, then wipe lightly with a dry
cloth or a cloth well-wrung after soaking in water. Do not use organic solvents such as
thinner or benzine.
● Take special shielding measures when using the machine in the following
locations:
Where noise is generated due to static electricity
Near strong electric fields
Where power source lines pass nearby
Where there is a risk of radioactivity
Where the machine could be subject to corrosive gasses
