Precautions for Use
To use this unit safely ensure a full performance of this unit, read this User's Manual
thoroughly before use.
This User’s Manual covers CV-2100N4 and CV-2100M4.
Both models are referred to as "CV-2100" in this User’s Manual. For the description that is
specific to one of the models, "CV-2100N4" or "CV-2100M4" is noted. Unless
"CV-2100N4" or "CV-2100M4" is noted, the description should apply to both models.
Observe the following cautions to maintain the accuracy and functions of this unit for an
extended period of time.
● Operators must understand the content of this document and receive training
from Mitutoyo
● This system is a measuring machine for one operator.
Do not use this system for any purpose other than such measurement.
● This system is a precision machine.
Exercise great care when handling this machine. Never bump or apply excessive force to
any of the parts during operation.
● Rectify the installation environments. (For detailed information, refer to "2.
INSTALLTION".)
• Free of dust and dirt
• Free of vibration
• Close to 20°C in ambient temperature
• Free of extreme humidity
● Do not place objects on the measuring main unit .
Placing objects other than a workpiece or your hands on the machine base could become
the cause of an accident. Don't place any objects near the machine.
● Do not touch this machine during operation.
This unit is a motor-driven measuring machine. To prevent your hands or objects being
accidentally pinched during measurement, do not go near the machine while it is
operating.
● Gently fix a workpiece on the stage.
If the base is subject to large impact, it could be damaged. Exercise sufficient care in fixing
a workpiece.
Particularly, pay attention so as not to apply an impact to the T-groove provided on the
base.
● Pay attention to working clothes and shoes.
• Wearing slippers is prohibited; make sure to wear safety shoes.
• The heat radiated by the human body can influence measurements.
• Also wear long sleeves to avoid abrasions or the like caused by the edges of the
workpiece.
