3.8 Adjusting the Measuring Force
Replacement of the stylus or arm may cause a change in the measuring force. In such a
case, the measuring force needs to be adjusted. For this adjustment, the measuring force
gage supplied as a standard accessory is used. Follow the procedure below to adjust the
measuring force.
1. Attach the stylus used for the measurement to the measuring arm.
TIP
Refer to "3.3 Replacing/Mounting a Stylus".
2. Make the stylus be in a free state. (Press the down switch.)
TIP
Refer to " 3.7.2 Moving the stylus in the up/down direction ".
3. Make the stylus touch the measuring surface (vicinity of the hole at the tip) of the
measuring force gage with the arm in the almost horizontal position, and check the
measuring force.
