Electrical Information
Grounding
Ensure that your DMA unit, powered from the DeviceNet network, is grounded in accordance
with the requirements in the ODVA “DeviceNet Specification,” Volume I [1].
Connectors
The DMA transducer has one 5-pin micro-style digital com
munications connector and one
9-pin Type DE-9S analog interface connector on its top panel (Figure 2, page 26).
Caution
To prevent damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD) to the sensitive
connector pins, the pins must be covered with an ESD protective cover
when not in use.
Digital Communications Connector
The 5-pin male micro-style connector (with anti-rotation features) accepts the power input from
the DeviceNet network and provides the interface for digital communications. This connector
meets the requirements in the ODVA “DeviceNet Specification,” Volume I [1].
