The camera can automatically obtain its network parameters using DHCP. This requires
the network to have a functioning DHCP server (for example, a DSL router with activated
DHCP server) and the camera must be booted using DHCP (see Section 3.2.6, Starting the
Camera With an Automatic IP Address (DHCP)). The IP address automatically assigned
by the DHCP server will be announced via the camera speaker as soon as the camera
has booted successfully.
Advantages
You can directly connect the camera to the target network.
Network parameters are automatically assigned.
There is no additional software required.
You do not need to access the camera software.
Disadvantages
The camera needs to be physically accessible as you need to press a key on the
camera housing to boot it using DHCP.
Requires a running DHCP server on the network.
