Fixture for ASTM restraining
This fixture is used to perform restrained tests on closed packages compliant with ASTM F2054. As the
name says they restrain the package to ensure that the pressure affects the package sealings in the
correct way.
The device is mostly used for burst tests, but it can also be used for testing leaks in the package sealing.
If device is used for a full leak test of a package, a Tyvec foil can be placed below and above the package
to enable leaked gas to escape from the top and bottom area of the package as well.
There are various kits with different contents available depending on the application, but basically a kit
consists of:
ASTM restraining plates
Test head
and one or more of the following items:
Filter (see page 33 for details)
Needle (see page 31 for details)
Septa (see page 34 for details)
