Installing the Terminal
This chapter explains how to perform an "Out-of-box" installation of a CX5 configured
with the Base and how to connect optional peripheral devices. The standard items
included in the box are:
• CX5 POS
• Power Supply
• Power Cord
• I/OSecurity Cover
The CX5 comes fully assembled and ready to use. All that is required to install is
connect the AC Power Cord, LAN Cable, and peripheral device cables.

Note: The POSLCD has a protective film. After removing the film, the LCD should be
cleaned. For more information, refer to Cleaning the Touchscreen on page82.
