d. For the VCI, enter a number between 32 and 65535, as indicated by your ISP.
The default setting is 38.
9. If your ISP provided you A
TM traffic class parameters, specify some or all of the following
settings, depending on the information that your ISP gave you:
a. From the ATM T
raffic Class menu, select UBR, CBR, NRT-VBR, or RT-VBR, as
indicated by your ISP.
b. In the PRC field, enter the Peak Cell Rate in number of cells per second.
c. In the SRC field, enter the Sustainable Cell Rate in number of cells per second.
d. In the MBS field, enter the Maximum Burst Size (MBS) in number of cells.
10. Click the lower Apply button.
The PVC settings, ATM traffic class parameters, or both are saved.
Change the Type of Physical WAN Connection
When you set up the modem router for cable or fiber (Ethernet WAN) service, you must
change the default type of WAN connection (see Set Up Your Modem Router for Cable or
Fiber Service on page 26). If you want to change the type of WAN connection, use the
information in this section.
The default type of WAN connection is the ADSL port for an Internet connection over DSL
service. With this option, the LAN 4 Ethernet port is available for a LAN connection. The other
type of W
AN connection is the WAN Ethernet port for an Internet connection over cable or
fiber service. With this option, the LAN 4 Ethernet port is not available for a LAN connection
because the port serves as the WAN port.
To change the type of WAN connection:
1. Launch an Internet browser from a computer or WiFi device that is connected to the
network.
2. T
ype http://www
.routerlogin.net.
A login screen displays.
3. Enter the user name and password for the modem router.
The user name is admin.
The default password is
password. The user name and
password are case-sensitive.
4. Click the OK button.
The BASIC Home screen displays.
5. Select xDSL.
The ADLS Settings screen displays.
