Eyepiece shutter
When using the self-timer, close the eyepiece shutter
to prevent light passing through the viewfinder. To
close the shutter, turn the eyepiece shutter lever in
the direction of the arrow.
Note
Do not press the shutter button while standing in front of the camera; this could result in the
subject being out of focus since focusing is performed when the shutter button is pressed
halfway.
By using the optional remote control (RM-1), you can take a picture with yourself in it
or a night scene without touching the camera. The camera can be set to trigger the
shutter either right away or 2 seconds after the shutter button on the remote control is
pressed.
1
Mount the camera on a tripod or place it
on a stable, flat surface.
2
While holding down the DRIVE button,
rotate the main dial or sub dial so that
or appears on the control panel.
3
Compose your shot, then turn the
eyepiece shutter lever in the direction of
the arrow to close the eyepiece shutter.
