HIGH FLOW INSUFFLATION UNIT UHI-4
1. Break down the tube to its basic building blocks.
2. Wipe off any dirt on the outer surface of tubes and connectors with a lint free
cloth. Wash out any residual body fluid from the tube interior if there is any.
3. Fill a 30 cm
3
or larger capacity syringe with clean water. Apply the tip of the
syringe to the hole at one end of the tube and inject clean water into the
tube. Repeat at least three times, and wash out any residual body fluid from
the interior if there is any.
4. Fill a basin with new detergent solution at the temperature and
concentration recommended by the manufacturer.
5. Immerse the tubes and connectors in the basin with detergent solution.
6. Using a clean lint free cloth, wipe the outer surface in the detergent solution.
Continue until any visible residue attached to the outer surface is completely
removed.
7. Fill a 30 cm
3
or larger capacity syringe with detergent solution. Make sure
there are no bubbles in it. Apply the tip of the syringe to the hole at one end
of the tube and forcefully inject the detergent solution. Repeat this at least
five times at least, completely filling the tube with detergent solution, while
ensuring that there are no bubbles in it.
