8. Fill a 30 cm
3
or larger capacity syringe with detergent solution. Make sure
there are no bubbles in it. Apply the tip of the syringe to the hole of the
connectors and forcefully inject the detergent solution. Repeat this at least
one time in each connector, completely filling the conduit with detergent
solution, while ensuring that there are no bubbles in it.
9. Immerse the tubes and connectors in the basin of detergent solution for at
least 30 minutes at the temperature recommended by the detergent
manufacturer.
10. Prepare a basin that is large enough so that the tubes and connectors may
be completely immersed, and fill a basin with rinse water.
11. Immerse the whole tubes and connectors in the basin of rinse water.
12. Using the lint-free cloth, wipe the all surfaces of the tubes and connectos
while it is immersed in the rinse water.
13. Fill a 30 cm
3
or larger capacity syringe with rinsing water. Make sure there
are no bubbles in it. Apply the tip of the syringe to the hole at one end of the
tube and forcefully inject rinsing water. Repeat this at least six times at least,
completely filling the tube with rinsing water, while ensuring that there are no
bubbles in it.
14. Fill a 30 cm
3
or larger capacity syringe with rinsing water. Make sure there
are no bubbles in it. Apply the tip of the syringe to the hole of the connectors
and forcefully inject rinsing water. Repeat this at least one time in each
connector, completely filling the conduit with rinsing water, while ensuring
that there are no bubbles in it.
15. To prevent dirty rinse water from contaminating the instrument, change the
rinse water and repeat Step 11 through 15 above at least 2 more times.
16. Repeat Step 11 through 15 above at least 2 more times.
17. Remove the tube from the clean water.
18. Attach the 30 cm
3
(30 ml) syringe to the tube and flush air to remove the
fluid from the inside of the tube.
19. Wipe all surfaces of the tubes and connectors with a clean dry lint-free cloth.
Alcohol is flammable. Handle with care.
