Chapter 7 Troubleshooting
HIGH FLOW INSUFFLATION UNIT UHI-4
Smoke evacuation is not
possible.
The insufflation switch is not pressed. Press the insufflation switch.
The “OFF” smoke evacuation mode is
selected.
Select “HIGH” or “LOW” smoke evacuation
mode.
The “LOW” flow rate mode is selected. Select “HIGH” or “MED” flow rate mode.
The insufflation tube is not connected. Connect the insufflation tube.
The insufflation tube is collapsed. Correct the collapsed area of the
insufflation tube.
The insufflation tube is perforated. Replace the insufflation tube.
The stopcock of the veress needle or the
trocar is closed.
Open the stopcock of the veress needle or
the trocar.
The suction tube is not connected. Connect the suction tube.
The suction tube is collapsed. Correct the collapsed area of the suction
tube.
The suction is clogged. Remove the foreign matters from inside
the suction tube.
The suction tube has not correctly been
inserted into the pinch valve.
Insert the suction tube into the pinch valve
correctly.
The suction unit is stopped. Activate the suction unit.
The foot switch is not connected. Connect the foot switch.
The foot switch is defective. Replace the foot switch.
The electrosurgical generator or the
ultrasonic generator is not connected
correctly.
Connect the electrosurgical generator or
the ultrasonic generator correctly.
The electrosurgical generator or the
ultrasonic generator is defective.
Replace the electrosurgical generator or
the ultrasonic generator.
The communication cable is defective. Replace the communication cable.
Suction capacity of the suction
device/equipment is too low.
Check the suction device/equipment to
see if it is working property.
Cavity pressure is less than about
2 mmHg.
Increase the cavity pressure to more than
about 2 mmHg.
The expressive pressure caution is
activated.
Release the expressive pressure caution.
The tube obstruction caution is activated. Release the tube obstruction caution.
Suction is continuous. The insufflation tube is collapsed, making
it impossible to measure the pressure.
Correct the collapsed area of the
insufflation tube.
The suction tube has not correctly been
inserted into the pinch valve.
Insert the suction tube into the pinch valve
correctly.
The foot switch is defective. Replace the foot switch.
The pinch valve is defective. Close the faucet of the trocar to which the
suction tube is connected. Contact
Olympus.
