NS Series Programming Manual
Always Logging Points
The number of "Always logging points" is the sum of the products of the number of points registered
and the number of logging points for each group for which the log period is set to "always."
(Number registered × Number of log points)+(Number registered × Number of log points)+
+(Number registered × Number of log points)
For the above example, calculations would be as follows:
{2×10(Group 1)}+{4×1000(Group 2)}+{4×10(Group 4)} = 4060
The available number of “Always logging points” differs depending on the sampling cycle for the data
log group and the log address storage type.
Example: The following table shows the maximum number of “Always logging points” that can be reg-
istered for one group with one log address.
Log address storage type
1 word 2 words
(including REAL)
Sampling cycle 1 to 86,400 s or on
event
50,000 37,500 Log timing
Sampling cycle 0.5 s 37,500 30,000
When registering multiple log addresses, the maximum number of “Always logging points” will be the
number shown on the table divided by the number of log addresses.
Maximum number of “Always logging points” for one group and 10 log addresses:
Log address storage type
1 word 2 words
(including REAL)
Sampling cycle 1 to 86,400 s or on
event
5,000 3,750 Log timing
Sampling cycle 0.5 s 3,750 3,000
Logging Points Total
The "'Always' Log Address Total" is the sum of the products of the number of points registered and the
number of logging points for each group.
(Number registered × Number of log points)+(Number registered × Number of log points)+
+(Number registered × Number of log points)
For the above example, calculations would be as follows:
(2x10)+(4x1000)+(3x100)+(4x10) = 4360
