Assembly Torques
TABLE 1.
The torque values given in Table I have been deter-
mined for the specific applications. Standard torque

values must not be used where those listed inTable1

apply. The engine assembly torques given here will
assure proper tightness without danger of stripping
threads.
All threads must be clean and lubricated with
new engine oil before torquing.
Check all studs, nuts, and capscrews, and tighten as
required to keep them from working loose. Refer to
the
PARTS MANUAL for the location of washers and
capscrews.
