Problem: A card has broken off in the card slot
of a wall reader.
Use the point of a knife and pry the broken card up
from the slot. When the card is removed, make a new
card for the guest. If the card cannot be removed from
the lock, use the Portable Programmer to open the door,
and then replace the lock.
Problem: A wall reader displays no lights when
a card is inserted, then displays a red light after
trying the card several times.
This is a delayed red light indication. If a card is
inserted into a wall reader, but the reader is unable to
read any information on the magnetic stripe of the card,
a red light is displayed after six seconds. First, read the
card with the encoder to make sure there is information
on the card. If the encoder is able to read information
on the card, the problem is with the read head of the
wall reader. First try using Cleaning Cards in the lock.
The Cleaning Cards may be purchased from Onity by
calling our After Market Sales department. After
cleaning the wall reader, try the keycard again. If you
still get the delayed red light, contact Technical
Support.
