Chapter 2 - Introduction
Depending on the configuration of your device the following image modalities may be available:
optomap
optomap is an ultra-widefield (UWF
1
) color fundus image.
optomap combines sensory and choroidal reflectance images and provides UWF image views from a single
capture action:
l
optomap color view – an UWF color fundus image combining red and green reflectance images.
l
optomap sensory view – an UWF green laser reflectance image of the surface retina.
l
optomap choroidal view – an UWF red laser reflectance image of the deeper retina.
optomap af
optomap af is an UWF green laser auto fluorescence image.
optomap plus
l
optomap plus is a higher resolution option which is available for optomap color reflectance and
optomap af modalities.
l
optomap plus is generally used for medical imaging. optomap is captured at a standard resolution
and is typically used for healthy eye exams or screening applications.
2.6.3 System software
The system contains features to help you configure the system and to capture, review, archive and retrieve
images. The system software comprises:
l Scan head software that enables capture of patient studies.
l Image server 'middleware' that encodes patient studies for storage.
l
The Vantage Admin application lets you configure your system. You can set password requirements,
create new users, modify existing users and set a variety of system controls.
l The OptosAdvance software lets you review and annotate captured images. They also contain
exporting, e-mailing and printing tools.
l
The Vantage Review application lets you review, annotate and add diagnostic codes to captured
images. It also contains exporting, e-mailing and printing tools.
l
The Vantage Storage application lets you archive and retrieve images.
The image capture software runs on the scan head.
2.6.3.1 Understanding the admin software
The Vantage Admin application lets System Administrators and Optos Representatives configure the system.
The Vantage Admin application features include:
l Application access control tools to let you create and manage user details.
l Application configuration options to let you configure your system.
l Personal data protection controls to let you set password and operation modes to protect medical
records. These settings can force login authentication to prevent unauthorized viewing of sensitive
patient data (all passwords are case sensitive).
l Checks to ensure unique patient identifiers are used.
When you run the application you will be prompted to enter your Username and Password. If it is the first time the
application has been run, enter the default login details listed below. Otherwise enter the changed details.
