You MUST always close the Optos applications on each Viewing PC at the end of each working day.
l You should follow the correct procedure in order to protect the integrity of the information on the disk
drives.
l You should back-up your image server data at least once a week.
3.1.2.1 Shut down the scan head

End the current session and select on the touch screen to close the device.

Wait for the status indicator to turn yellow and then switch off the scan head power. The touch screen
will switch off when the device is switched off.

Fit the dust cap in the eye piece and place the fabric cover over the scan head.
3.1.2.2 Install software updates
Each time you shut down the system the device will check for software updates. You should follow the
instructions displayed on the touch screen to start the software update.
The device shuts down when the updates have completed.
3.1.2.3 Log off the image server each day
You should log off the image server at the end of each day.

Exit OptosAdvance and Vantage applications.
2.
Select the "Windows" button.
3.
Select Log off.

l Your device communicates with Optos overnight and will need to access the image server PC.
l Image files cannot be viewed on browser-based review clients when the image server has been shut
down.
l
Restart the image server each week to allow updates to install, see Restart the image server each
week below.
3.1.2.4 Restart the image server each week
CAUTION
Exit OptosAdvance before turning OFF the image server.
If you are using Vantage applications, exit the Vantage applications before turning OFF the
image server.
You should restart the image server each week to allow updates to install.
1.
Exit OptosAdvance. If you are using Vantage applications, exit these too.
2.
Select the "Windows" button.
3.
Select Restart.
3.1.3 Use the system
Before setting up and capturing images, ensure you are familiar with the device and equipment.
3.1.3.1 Using the touch screen
The touch screen is connected to the scan head and controls the scan head and capture functionality.
