Live View
The IQ4 can display a Live View feed on the touch screen. It is a very eective
method for getting the focus right and adjusting exposure prior to the
capture.
Activating Live View
ou initiate Live View by either tapping on the Movie icon in Camera Controls or
by pressing the top-left button on the IQ4 until the Live View icon is
highlighted. You can also swipe up from the bottom of the IQ4 touch screen
and selecting the icon.
Zooming in Live View
You can use pinch gestures to zoom in to the Live View feed by pinching
outward and zoom back out by pinching inward. Note how a number at the
center top of the screen will display the zoom percentage for a few seconds.
Double-tap to zoom to 100% and double-tap again to go to fit screen view.
While zoomed in to the Live View feed, you can pan around by pressing a
finger on the screen and move it.
You can zoom all the way in to 400% in Live View by either using the pinch-
outward gesture or by triple-tapping on the screen. Triple-tap again to zoom
back to fit screen view.
Adjusting Exposure in Live View
The exposure is adjusted manually on the XT Camera System. It is highly
recommended to use Live View mode as it provides a number of visual aids
such as Exposure evaluation meter, Exposure Simulation, live Histograms and
RAW Clipping Warning that makes it easy to adjust the exposure manually
with the required precision.
Selecting Exposure Settings
There are two ways to select the exposure settings (Shutter Speed, Aperture,
ISO) in order to adjust those. You can either press on the bottom-left key on
the IQ4 to cycle through the options or just tap on the desired setting at the
bottom of the touch screen. It now becomes highlighted.
Once ISO, Shutter Speed or Aperture becomes highlighted, you can adjust the
value by pressing on the top-right key or the bottom-right key on the IQ4. The
top key increases the shutter time, ISO and Aperture values while the bottom
key do the reverse. It is also possible to slide your finger upwards or
downwards on the screen to change the selected value.
