8.2 RESET OF DVD/CD DRIVE DATA
If the Traverse mechanism (TM) mounted on the DVD/CD drive of this unit is replaced, the data for the new
TM must be written to the main flash memory (on the SMAIN Assy) of the drive unit.
The procedure for entering this mode is the same as for entering Service mode.
See How to Enter This Service Mode” of “6.2 SERVICE MODE FOR THE DRIVE UNIT.
Items to be Initialized
How to Enter Initialization Mode
Writing of the initial value of the LD current
The present LD current is measured, and the result is written to the
memory on the SMAIN Assy.
Clearance of accumulated time of
LD light emission
The accumulated time of LD light emission stored in memory on the
SMAIN Assy is reset to 0.

Note: NEVER perform initialization of the drive if the TM is not replaced. If you do, the factory-preset
values for the currently mounted TM will be erased from the memory on the SMAIN Assy.

With the above screen displayed, press the TEMPO RANGE
key of Controller A for initialization of Drive 1 or of Controller
B for initialization of Drive 2.
When the TEMPO RANGE key is pressed, the USB STOP
LED for the selected drive will light in red. Initialization is
completed when the LED goes dark.
Reenter Service mode (by turning the unit off then back on
again) to confirm that the value for accumulated hours of LD
light emission of the initialized drive is reset to zero.
After the TM is replaced for repair, if you wish to erase past
error logs of the unit, copy user data to a USB storage
device, referring to “Backing Up User Data” in the operation
manual. Then perform factory-reset, referring to [3] of “6.3
SERVICE MODE FOR THE CONTROL UNIT. Then copy the
data on the USB storage device back to the memory.
