If operation of a device that is
supplied by bus power is
unstable, the protector (P102) on
the SMAIN Assy may be
damaged.Check the voltage at
the two electrodes of the protec-
tor.
If there is a potential difference, the protector
may be damaged. Replace it.
Communication not possible, neither via USB1 (rear) nor USB2 (front) ports
Only communication via USB1 (rear) port not possible
-1 SMAIN ASSY
Check the connection of the USB
communication line from the USB
connector (JA15) on the SJACK
Assy to the USB HUB IC (IC403).
In a case of poor connection, correct it.

2
SMAIN ASSY/
SJACK ASSY
Check the USBPW1# and
USBOC1# signals from the USB
HUB (IC403) to the HIGHT SIDE
SW (IC405).
If the USBPW1# signal does not become L,
check the mounting status of the USB HUB IC
(IC403). If it is properly mounted, the port
connector may be defective; replace it.
If the USBOC1# signal does not become H,
check the mounting status of the USB HUB IC
(IC403).If it is properly mounted, the port
connector may be defective; replace it.
-3
SMAIN ASSY
Check the input voltage (V+5D)
and output voltage (V+5USB2D)
to/from the HIGHT SIDE SW
(IC405).
If there is the input voltage (V+5D) but not
output voltage (V+5USB2D), check the
mounting status of the HIGHT SIDE SW
(IC405). If it is properly mounted, it may be
defective; replace it.
If V+5USB2D is output, go to [5].

SMAIN ASSY
Check the connections of the
communication lines (USBDM1,
USBDP1) of the USB controller
(IC402) and USB HUB IC
(IC403).
Resolder ICs if poor connection is detected.
If this does not resolve the problem, the port of
the USB controller (IC402) is defective; replace
it.
-2
SMAIN ASSY
Check if the USB HUB IC (IC403)
is defective or improperly
mounted.
• Power (V+3R3D, V+1R8D)
• HUB_24M
• USBRST#
If power is not supplied, check the connection
of the power line.
If the clock signal is not input, the crystal
oscillator (X400) and its peripheral chips may
be defective or improperly mounted. Resolder
them. If the problem is not resolved, replace
them.
Check the connection of the USBRST#.
If the connection is OK, the port is defective;
replace it.

1 CABLE
If a connection is loose, firmly connect the
cables.
If there is breakage, replace the Cables.
5
SMAIN ASSY
If the problem is not resolved
even after the above-mentioned
measures are taken.
Check if the cables that connect
the SMAIN and SJACK
Assys(rear) are securely
connected and if there is break-
age in the cables.
Check the mounting status of the USB HUB IC
(IC403). If it is properly mounted, the port
connector may be defective; replace it.
