15. Using a T20 Torx driver, remove the screws that
secure the oil deflector (T).
16. Using a T27 Torx driver, remove the screws that
secur
e the output gear (U).
17. Remove the shift drum (V) from the gearcase by
m
oving the drum up and to the right to clear the shift
shaft.
18. Remove the output gear (U) and gear cluster
ass
embly from the gearcase by pulling both
assemblies straight up.
19. Place the gear cluster assembly on a clean surface for
i
nspection.
