If you plan to store the vehicle for ONE month or longer,
remove the battery from the vehicle and store the battery
in a cool / dry location. Continue to maintain the battery
with the BatteryMINDer® 2012 AGM - 2 AMP charger
and inspect the battery every 60 days.
BATTERY OFF SEASON STORAGE
Whenever the vehicle is not used for a period of three
months or more, remove the battery from the vehicle,
ensure that it's fully charged, and store it out of the sun in
a cool, dry place. Check battery voltage each month
during storage and recharge as needed to maintain a full
charge.
NOTICE
Battery charge can be maintained by using a Polaris
battery tender charger or by charging once a month to
make up for normal self-discharge. Battery tenders can
be left connected during the storage period, and will
automatically charge the battery if the voltage drops
below a pre-determined point.
EXTREME USE 30 AH BATTERY
Polaris offers a 30 AH battery (P/N 4014609) for use in
extreme conditions where the factory installed battery
can not maintain a charge because of multiple electrical
accessories.
ENGINE / CHASSIS GROUND
Periodically inspect the electrical ground cable
attachments. Cables and connections should be tight
and corrosion-free.
Inspect the battery-to-chassis connection underneath the
front cab between the rack support and fuel fill hose. This
connection allows the chassis to provide a ground path.
Inspect the chassis-to-engine connection on the front of
the engine attached to the engine crankcase. This
connection allows the engine to provide a ground path.
